Each Chapter has its own personality that is reflected in its members and local culture. The common thread you will find at EAA Chapter 839 is an interest in enjoying aviation with others who have a similar interest and the desire to share aviation with the local community through fly-ins, picnics, workshops, Young Eagle rallies and more. We are an Active Chapter with a new hangar and lots of exciting projects in the works. Contact us soon for more information!

Queen City and Braden Air Park In Danger!

The LVGAA (Lehigh Valley General Aviation Association) needs our help to keep Queen City and Braden Air Park open. They need that help right now! Read Mike Rosenfeld's letter (PDF Format) then join the LVGAA by downloading their application (PDF Format) and sending it and $25 to this organization that is fighting for our airports.

First Flight for 701!

October 8, 2011 - After what seemed likes weeks and weeks of bad weather and two flat tires and a bent front axle during taxi tests, the 701 broke ground for it's first flight. Rod Hatcher did the honors. "It flew almost hands off right from the start" Rod said. The first flight lasted 20 minutes and remained in the pattern around Pegasus Airport. A final at 60 mph and a smooth touchdown in front of a small group of the key builders ended the flight.

First Flight

After post flight checks Rod handed the keys over to Bill Barry who took the 701 up for it's second flight of the morning. Bill also remained in the air for 20 minutes doing further checks. Bill said "The 701 needs virtually no rudder for turns and the ball stays centered easily." Bill brought her in for a picture perfect landing. After the flight one could tell Bill was a bit excited about the flight because he seemed to have a problem stopping talking!

All in all the 701 was flown four times on Saturday for a total of almost two hours. Click Here for further pictures.
